My Top 5 Songs of the 2000's
If you were lucky enough to grow up in the early 2000’s and even if you weren’t, you already know that achieving the top 5 songs of 2000’s is next to impossible. The 2000’s is some of the greatest music and artists I have had the joy of listening to and still do today.
1. TRY AGAIN – Aaliyah
This still bumps hard today. Aaliyah and her short lived career is still one of RnB’s biggest icons! You’ll hear this one pretty regular at any decent hip hop party or playlist and was produced by one of my favourite producers Timbaland.
2. ONE MORE TIME – Daft Punk
These guys were killing it in the early 2000’s with hits like One More Time & Harder Better Faster Strong and so on! Easily one of the anthems of my childhood! They have been at the forefront of electronic music for over 20 years and are still a huge inspiration to artist and producers a like to this day.
3. WORK IT – Missy Elliot
Anything Missy Elliot in the 2000’s was instantly a hit! And why shouldn’t it be, produced by yours truly, living legend Timbaland. Every track from this dynamic duo instantly became a hit and got every dancer on their feet! Missy Elliot is an icon living!
4. GOLD DIGGER – Kanye West
Love him or hate him… who cares? Kanye West was certainly one to crush it during the 2000’s. Every track from his albums were iconic and still are some of my favourite Kanye tracks out there! Kanye’s new, “Jesus Is King” was fun but most probably won’t last the tests of times compared to his classic albums in the early 2000’s.
5. MY LOVE – Justin Timberlake
This track and this whole album is one of the best JT albums around. Incredible songs, production, videos! You name it. The 2000’s were a time of creativity and the rise of some sick dance moves! Even the word, “Sick” feels early 2000. JT has had dance floors moving for the last 10 years!
